Mitsubishi Electric + Resotec = Plastic2

Mitsubishi Electric and Resotec Realtime Software Technik are announcing a new partnership in the plastics sector at the Hannover Fair 2000. In keeping with the motto Connections Create Solutions, the new alliance came into effect on 01 January 2000.

Both partners' many years of experience and outstanding technological expertise are now being brought together for the joint development of advanced systems solutions for plastics technology. Mitsubishi and Resotec are both trendsetters in their own fields, with innovative complete-solution concepts that cater to users' increasing demands for simpler operation, faster installation and configuration and easier adaptation to existing applications. Together, Mitsubishi and Resotec are more than just the sum of the two companies' extensive expertise - they are plastics and applications know-how to the power of two.

Extrusion Pack2 - Easy Configuration Instead of Complex Programming

Extrusion Pack2, the first joint project by Mitsubishi and Resotec, stands for a new class of automation solutions in the plastics industry. The two companies have developed an integrated control concept for the automation of extruder systems, combining application-optimised Resotec technology with Mitsubi-shi's outstanding components, which have already proved themselves in hundreds of thousands of installations. Mitsubishi PLCs and Resotec control units form the heart of this new system, which gives users a pre-configured turnkey automation solution for all standard plastics extrusion applications.

Normally, customers expect to get powerful components that need extensive programming work to adapt them to their individual applications. This system is different. The two partners deliver preconfigured complete solutions that can be easily and quickly integrated in the customer's machines on site, thus saving a great deal of money. At the same time, these solutions are also open enough to allow experienced users to implement special applications for their individual needs. Custom projects can be developed efficiently with the help of a PLC programming software package conforming to the IEC 1131 standard (Melsec Medoc+) and a visualisation and programming software package for control units (VISU4WINNERS). Further details of the partners' automation concept will be presented at the Mitsubishi stand at the Hannover fair

Two Partners - One Objective

Mitsubishi Electric was founded in 1921 and is now one of the world's three market leaders in automation technology. The German branch of the company was established over twenty years ago, and ever since then it has been serving the market here with international standard products and state-of-the-art automation solutions. Mitsubishi Electric's hardware and software components are particularly well suited for the demanding needs of applications in the plastics industry. Resotec Realtime Software Technik has now been operating from its Bauna valley headquarters in the state of Hessen for fifteen years. Its main focus is the development of custom hardware and software tools, visualisation and automation systems and application and process monitoring software.

The company has already delivered a number of impressively mature solutions for the rapidly-growing plastics processing market. The objective of the cooperation is to optimise the inherent strengths of both companies and exploit the synergy potential of working together. To the Power of Two, the motto of the new partnership, is thus the expression of the fact that the know-how of these two specialists is being multiplied rather than just added: Together, Mitsubishi Electric's technology and expertise and Resotec's many years of applications experience promise outstanding high-tech solutions for users in the plastics industry. It is thus hardly surprising that the partners expect great things of their new alliance. Their ambitious objective is no less than market leadership in extrusion technology automation solutions within the space of the next three years.
